User roles and permission concept in edoc D365 FO invoice cockpit

You can use special roles in edoc invoice cockpit to grant users the appropriate permissions for each task and responsibility.

There are three roles in edoc invoice cockpit that you can use to control access to the functionality.

Things to know

To ensure that the members of the edoc roles always have access to the default functions in Dynamics 365, you must assign the Dynamics 365 default role Accounts payable clerk to all edoc roles.

Role name "edoc invoice cockpit administrator"

All members of the administrative role have unrestricted access to all functions in edoc invoice cockpit.

Role name "edoc invoice cockpit manager"

All members of the role for executives (e.g. management, leadership) have a more restricted access to the functions in edoc invoice cockpit.

A member in this role can display or use all functions with the following restriction:

  • No changing, deleting, or starting a batch processing job.

  • No access to the functions under Parameters > Maintenance job.

  • No activation or deactivation of edoc invoice cockpit.

  • No changing or deleting of sales orders under Setup > Auto processing.

All other functions can be used by the members in this role within the scope of their tasks and responsibilities.

Role name "edoc invoice cockpit clerk"

All members of the role for clerks may only read the configuration, but not edit anything. All restrictions that apply to the edoc invoice cockpit manager role also apply to the edoc invoice cockpit clerk role.

In addition, members of this role may not deactivate, delete, activate or regenerate an invoice from staging tables.
