CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) is an open, vendor-neutral standard that serves as an interface for connecting various content management systems (CMS).
The CMIS interface, based on the OASIS standard, was developed to support interoperability between different software systems and to facilitate the exchange of content.
The CMIS interface provides an ERP system with a structured and standardized method for storing and retrieving content from an ECM system, making it easier to manage documents and data. This allows your employees to work in the application they are familiar with (ERP or ECM) while still accessing the same content.
With CMIS, extensive modifications to the ERP or ECM system are no longer necessary.
Thanks to the standalone web service (CMIS), there is essentially an abstraction layer that ensures communication between the ERP and ECM systems and recognizes the content objects in each system.
The CMIS standard is based on four object types that exist in ERP and ECM systems. Of the object types listed in the CMIS standard, edoc archivelink supports the following object types:

Documents (CMIS object type: cmis:document): Supported in edoc CMIS archivelink.

Folder (files) (CMIS object type: cmis:folder): Supported in edoc CMIS archivelink.

Record (general) (CMIS object type: cmis:item): Supported in edoc CMIS archivelink.

Relationships (CMIS object type: cmis:relationship) Are not supported in edoc CMIS archivelink.

Policies (rule sets) (CMIS object type: cmis:policy): Not supported in edoc CMIS archivelink.
