Define properties for the property mapping

To be able to use certain properties of an ECM document for the search, you must define each individual property for edoc plugin ecm.

Preparation

For this task, you need the ECM field ID of the advanced properties (metadata) of documents.

If necessary, ask the relevant administrator of the ECM system.

Here's how

  1. Navigate to edoc plugin ecm - properties.

  2. In the Code column, enter any character string to identify the property.

  3. In the Description column, enter a meaningful text that describes the property in more detail.

  4. Optional. In the Company column, enter a value that is used on the edoc plugin ecm - property mapping page in the Return company function. You can leave this column empty if you are not using the Return company function.

  5. Enter the value of the advanced property (metadata of a document) in the ECM field ID column so that this property can be clearly mapped to the search.

Your configuration is saved automatically.

In the next step, you configure which ECM web application is to be used for a Business Central page: Configure ECM web applications for Business Central pages
