Understanding edoc document reader (overview) (Legacy)

edoc document reader automatically processes incoming documents, e.g. invoices, and indexes all references, the so-called entities, according to certain criteria.

The entities include purchase order numbers, vendors (address, IBAN, name, tax ID, VAT ID), amounts (gross amount, net amount, tax amount, tax rate), currency and line item data (quantity, unit price, total price).

The company information from the master data serves as support for the automated recognition process. The information per company already exists in edoc invoice, for example, and is used accordingly in the recognition process.
