Configure ECM web applications for Dynamics NAV pages

Once you have defined the properties that you want to use for the property mapping, define which Dynamics NAV pages the linked ECM pages, searches in the ECM system and ECM web applications should be used for.

Things to know

For a Microsoft Dynamics NAV page, e.g. sales order, you can define up to ten ECM searches for an ECM system.

For more information see: Overview of the configurable Dynamics NAV pages

To display an ECM system on a Dynamics NAV page, you need the following data:

Navigate to edoc plugin ecm - Pages to define ECM web applications for Microsoft Dynamics NAV pages.

  • Page ID: Enter the Dynamics NAV page ID on which edoc NAV plugin ecm should be displayed. Use the key combination CTRL+ALT+F1 to open the page check on the NAV destination page, where you will find the page ID.

  • Table ID: Enter the NAV table ID for the selected NAV page that represents the table below the page. Use the key combination CTRL+ALT+F1 to open the page check on the Dynamics NAV destination page, where you will find the table ID.

  • Search profile: The Search profile column contains an automatic counter that is automatically incremented. The counter cannot be edited.

  • Description: Enter a meaningful description that explains the ECM search in more detail. The description is displayed on the corresponding Dynamics NAV page in the selection dialog of the edoc plugin ecm button.

  • Property search: Shows whether the ECM application is a property search. The checkbox is automatically activated if you have deactivated Use direct URL for the page.

  • Direct link: Shows whether the ECM application is a direct link. The checkbox is automatically activated if you have activated Use direct URL for the page.

  • Destination application: Select the ECM web application that is to be displayed on the Dynamics NAV page. You have defined this destination application under Configure web application connections.

  • Manual loading: Activate the checkbox if your users have to execute the configured ECM search with edoc plugin ecm manually on the selected Dynamics NAV page. Otherwise, the configured ECM search is loaded automatically when a Dynamics NAV page is opened. More background information:

    • For performance reasons, it is recommended to load the ECM search manually for Dynamics NAV pages of the list type, as an ECM search is triggered for each record when the user scrolls through the list.

    • If you activate Manual loading, the default URL set up for the destination application is loaded automatically.

  • Display mode: Select the display mode of your selected ECM search on the Dynamics NAV page. FactBox mode is always selected by default. For a display element to be available on a page, you must create at least one entry with the display mode for the Dynamics NAV page. You can choose between the following display modes:

    • FactBox: Select FactBox to display and provide a FactBox with the selected ECM search in the FactBox area of the Dynamics NAV page.

    • Content group: Select Content group to display and provide the ECM search for the existing content groups or an existing list of a Dynamics NAV page.

    • Browser tab: Select Browser tab to provide a new tab in the web browser with the ECM search.

    • Inplace: Select Inplace to provide an overlaid dialog to display the ECM search.

  • ECM document type: Specify the ECM document type in which the search is to be performed in the ECM system. The specified ECM document type is then automatically inserted into the connection string for the [DocType] placeholder of the selected destination application.

    • For d.velop documents, enter the abbreviations of the document types. Example: AKUND, DKUND

    • For Microsoft SharePoint, enter the short form of the document types. Example: SalInvoice, ProcInvoice.
