In edoc archive service, you can define the fields in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that uniquely identify your incoming documents.
In the edoc archive service field mapping in the Import column, activate the fields with which the incoming documents are uniquely identified in order to find the corresponding record for the ECM document in the ERP system.
You do not need a primary key for the fields. However, the primary key fields are always unique. For the other fields, you must analyze the details to ensure that the fields uniquely identify the record.

Before you start with the configuration in edoc archive service, it is essential that you plan and document which ERP fields you use for your incoming documents.
Things to know
If you do not use primary key fields for incoming documents in the edoc archive service field mapping, the fields must always be unique.
If there are a number of different documents for a field or a combination of several fields, only the first document is used for the import.
