Back up and restore ECM system configurations

You can create a backup of your ECM system configurations at any time by exporting and re-importing an existing system configuration. When you export an existing ECM system configuration, you export the connection configurations, document fields, document types and also the indexing set up.

You can use the backup file EDARLSystemParm.xml for the following purposes:

  • Save the backup file to any storage location.

  • Import the backup file into an existing system configuration with the following options:

    • Replace existing ECM system configuration: Replace overwrites all existing data. You can use Import to decide whether you want to use the same or a different system ID.

    • Create a new ECM system configuration with a different system ID.
