Map an ERP system to an ECM system

Before you can map the systems, you must have created a connection to both systems. You must connect your ERP system and your ECM system in edoc archive service to enable data exchange between the two systems.

You can use the system mapping to map the ERP- and ECM-specific fields and properties later on.

You can only map one ERP system to one ECM system per system mapping. However, you can create multiple system mapping for different combinations of ERP systems and ECM systems.

You can also decide whether you want to display the archiving processes in FactBoxes in the ERP system.

Before you start

In this step, you define an alias name for your company. This alias name is used for field mapping if a company is to be mapped to certain fields.

Discuss in advance with those involved which alias name you would like to use and whether FactBoxes for processes should be displayed in the ERP system.

Here's how

  1. Go to the edoc platform system environment and open the administration of edoc archive service in the browser.

  2. Navigate to Map systems and process types > Create new system mapping.

  3. Enter any meaningful name for the system mapping for identification purposes under Enter the name of the system mapping. It is advisable to specify the mapped systems in the name if there are several system mappings.

  4. Under Enter a description of the connection, enter a meaningful description in which you explain the mapped systems in more detail.

  5. Under Select ERP connection, select which of the ERP systems already configured under Administration > Configure ERP connections you would like to map to an ECM system.

  6. Under Select ECM connection, select which of your ECM systems already configured under Administration > Configure ECM connections you would like to map to an ERP system.

  7. Under Enter the alias name of the company, enter the name of the company for which the system mapping is used. The alias name is used when mapping the fields if required.

  8. Optional for Microsoft Dynamics systems: Activate or deactivate the Show FactBox for processes in the ERP system option to display processes in a FactBox in the ERP system.

  1. Activate the Enable data exchange between the systems option. Data exchange is only enabled once you have configured at least one process type and one field mapping.

  2. Click on Save.
