Create a profile in edoc e-mail processing

After you have created the connection to the e-mail account, you must configure a profile.

You can use the profile to filter e-mails specifically and accurately, e.g. based on the subject or e-mail address of a sender, and define corresponding processing actions.

Before you begin

You must first specify an e-mail account under edoc e-mail processing > Connect accounts. For details, see Connect an e-mail account with IMAP and Connect an e-mail account with Microsoft Graph.

In order for the e-mails and their attachments to be recognized and processed, you must have configured the template of the schema for e-mails in edoc documents. You must also define the attribute ID email_id as a mandatory field in the schema.

Here's how

  1. Click on edoc e-mail processing in the sidebar to open the overview with the settings for e-mails.

  2. Click on Profiles and then on New profile, e.g. to create a profile for recognizing invoices.

  3. Enter a descriptive name for the profile in the Details section, e.g. Invoices.

  4. Under E-mail account, select the name of the collective account in which the invoices are collected.

  5. Activate the option Process incoming e-mails regularly. The option must be activated in order to process e-mails from the mailbox.

  6. Click on Save in the ribbon.

If you activate the option Process incoming e-mails regularly, e-mails are processed every 10 minutes.

Next, you can do the following:

  • You can also optionally configure alternative folders for processing e-mails.

  • You must define the filter criterion for the e-mail that are to be processed as e-mails with invoices.
