What do the statuses of the process mean for a document?

A document for a Dynamics 365 Business Central process has different statuses with regard to the transfer and archiving process in the ECM system. You can see the status of a process containing a document at any time.

Tip

If you want to check the details of the archiving process, do the following:

  1. Click on the magnifying glass to search for the keywords edoc archivelink processes.

  2. Click on the edoc archivelink processes entry in the dialog.

  3. Sort the column Entry No. column in descending order to display the most recently created processes at the top of the table.

  4. Scroll to the File name column to identify your most recently uploaded document. You can find the status of the document in the Status column.

The process can have different statuses:

  • Open: the document has been created in Dynamics 365 Business Central. An archiving request has been created for the document, but it has not yet been released.

  • Released: the document has been checked and will be transferred to edoc archive service. The service is used for further automated processing of the process.

  • Waiting for edoc archive service: the document is waiting to be processed in edoc archive service.

  • Completed: the document has been successfully transferred to the ECM system and archived.

  • Error: the status indicates that there is an error for the process in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The process was canceled. Please contact your administration.

  • Error in edoc archive service: the status indicates that there is an error for a process in edoc archive service. The process has been canceled. Please contact your administration.

  • Canceled: the status indicates that a faulty process in edoc archive service has been canceled. The process has been canceled. Please contact your administration.

Things to know

The status of a document in Dynamics 365 Business Central has no effect on the status in your ECM system. The status of a document in the ECM system is subject to the rules of the respective ECM system.
