Summary

You receive the error message "Service Unavailable" if you want to use edoc D365 BC plugin ecm (edoc plugin ecm). With the edoc plugin ecm web integration in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can access the data of your ECM software d.velop documents (d.3one).

In d.3one, the document preview is made available using the d.ecs pdf service. This document preview is also used in edoc plugin ecm.

In order for the document preview to work again, you must restart the Windows service d.ecs pdf on the application server on which d.ecs pdf is installed.

Important requirements

You have administration permissions on the application server with the d.ecs pdf service.

Solution

  1. If required, establish a remote desktop session with the application server on which the d.ecs pdf service is running.

  2. Click on the Windows start icon on the application server and search for Services (for higher Windows versions, use the search field next to the Windows start icon to search.

  3. Open Services and find the service d.ecs pdf.

  4. Right-click on the d.ecs pdf service and select Restart.

After restarting the service, check whether the edoc plugin ecm in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is now working correctly again.
