Summary

In d.3one in Microsoft Outlook, you can control how workflows are opened when you click on an e-mail notification for an approval workflow. You can open the workflow directly by clicking on the notification. You can define this setting as a user your Microsoft Outlook client under Outlook options > Add-ins > Add-in options with the option Workflow instead of e-mail options.

For more information about the settings see the quick start guide for the e-mail integrations of d.velop documents.

As an administrator, you can distribute the Workflow instead of e-mail options option as a registry item using Active Directory software distribution as a group policy in your organization. For information about AD software distribution of registry elements see the d.3one in Microsoft Outlook Administration Guide.

In this KB article you will find the registration element using the example of a registration entry for a client.

Important requirements

  • Local computer: You need administrative permissions on your Windows computer to edit the registry.

  • Microsoft Windows network: You need administrative permissions in your Windows network in order to distribute group policies.

Solution

If you want to edit the registration of your local computer instead of the d.3one defaults under Outlook options > Add-Ins > Add-In options, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Windows registry on the local computer with the key combination Windows logo+R.

  2. Enter regedit and confirm your entry with the Enter key.

  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\d.velop\dvelop.Client.Outlook.Integration

  4. Change the AutoD3L registry item accordingly:

    1. The value 1 means the option is active.

    2. The value 0 means the option is inactive.

As a network administrator, you can use the group policies to distribute the setting to all users.
