Summary

If you use the edoc contract app functions, such as contract control or the reminder overview, in d.3 smart explorer, the following error message is displayed:

Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. 
Please try again later.
Additionally. a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You cannot use edoc contract app due to the error.

The reason for this message could be the missing registration of the application edoc app server V2 (appsv2) in d.ecs http gateway.

You must register the edoc app server V2 (appsv2) application manually in d.ecs http gateway.

Important requirements

  • Installed d.3 smart explorer version: Current 2024 Q1 Patch 3 (version 8.32.21)

  • You need administrative access to d.3 administration.

  • You need administrative access to d.ecs http gateway.

Solution

Before you start, you must first determine all the data (e.g. destination URL) from your d.3 installation. In the second step, register the edoc app server V2 (appsv2) application with d.ecs http gateway.

Step 1 - Determine the URL of the form in d.3 admin

  1. Open d.3 administration in the start menu on the d.3 application server.

  2. Switch to edit mode.

  3. Open Other services > Form assignment in the menu.

  4. Click on the URL for the contract control in the form assignment under Document-related forms to open the Add configuration dialog.

  5. Copy this part of the URL under Add external URL: https://<Hostname>/appsv2


Step 2 - Determine the URL of the form in d.3 admin

  1. Go to d.ecs http gateway by entering the following address in your browser: https://localhost:4200.

  2. Click on Add new app registration.

  3. Under App, enter appsv2 to register edoc app server V2.

  4. Under Destination URL, enter the URL copied from d.3 admin: https://<Hostname>/appsv2

  5. Click on Register.

After successful registration, the Instance ID field is filled automatically.

If all fields are correctly filled in d.ecs http gateway and a connection has been successfully established. The entry for appsv2 is displayed in green in the list of apps when the connection has been established. You can now use the functions of edoc contract app in d.3 smart explorer again.
